You can contact the Community Safety Unit during working hours for non- emergency support in dealing with domestic violence.
The phone number for Barking and Dagenham C.S.U. is 0208 217 7745. This number is answered in office hours detailed below:

Saturday and Sunday: 9am to 5pm
You can leave a message on their answer machine outside of these hours.
The Community Safety Unit have lots of experience in dealing with domestic violence and can advice you on ways in which the police may be able to help you.
They can also refer you on to other specialist domestic violence services. Please remember that Community Safety Unit Officers are police officers working in the criminal justice system which means that if you tell them about a crime they may decide to investigate further whether or not you wish them to.
Some C.S.U. police officers can help women to gain injunctions (civil law court orders e.g.non molestation orders which aim to protect victims of domestic violence from their (ex) partners.
Please refer to separate section on Injunctions for further information. If you are being harassed or stalked by an ex partner the Community Safety Unit can also advise you on how they could use a law called The Protection From Harassment Act 1997 to try to stop this behaviour.
