This service provides short term support including:

• Practical advice & information including Sanctuary home security improvements (new locks)
• Panic alarms
• Civil law advice including obtaining injunctions & other civil remedies
• Criminal law advice including police procedures
• Legal rights in relation to the property you live in (council, housing association or private)
• Alternative accommodation options including homelessness legislation and help in finding refuge accommodation if you wish to leave

The Domestic Violence Advocacy Service works closely with the Police, Housing, the Homeless Persons Unit, Social Services, Eaves Housing for Women, Victim Support, drug and alcohol teams and local solicitors.

Long term support can be arranged on your behalf through liaison with other agencies depending on services required
